- Lovely but not as dark as the colors sound Review by KM from Upstate NY

I like these colors very much, but I have two comments up front: they don't coordinate particularly well with the rest of the Sakura Gelly Roll line, and they're not as dark as you might expect.
Granted, it's not easy to produce a dark metallic ink, but the hunter green and burgundy here fall short of their names. The hunter green is more of a pretty, dark sage, and the burgundy is somewhere in the mauve range. Neither look as "metallic" as the other Gelly Roll metallic pens. The sepia is a very attractive gold with somewhat less yellow than the "gold" metallic ink in this line. The black dries to a deep grey--some batches that I've purchased have been quite metallic, and some have not. The blue-black is a respectable shade of navy-ish but my experiences with it put the exact shade all over the place, according the the batch I've purchased. Some have had a purplish tinge, some have been quite a bit paler than navy, and none seem to have the nice even pigmentation that I like so much in most Sakura pens. In general that's one of my complaints with this batch of colors: the black, sepia, and blue tend to "bleed" a little into other shades. The colors are, however, quite pretty together. They mix with the copper and silver pens in this line, but not much else.
